Undocumented, First-Generation College and Low-Income Student (U-FLi) Center

Kessler Scholars Program

The Kessler Scholars Program (KSP) at Brown University, formerly the FLi Scholars Program (FLiSP), is a four-year cohort-based student success and community building program for undergraduates who identify with the following populations served by the U-FLi Center: undocumented, first-generation-college, and/or low-income (U-FLi).

The program, now supported by the Kessler Scholars Collaborative, builds on the successes of FLiSP to support first-generation college students throughout their entire journey at Brown university.

“ This program has taught me to reframe my first-generation and low-income background as one I should be proud of declaring openly. It taught me that conversations about these identities should not be marked as off limits. I am now comfortable with talking about these identities that I have tried to hide away for so long. ”
