Undocumented, First-Generation College and Low-Income Student (U-FLi) Center

Programs and Advising

The U-FLi Center coordinates programming and provides resources that support the well-being and academic success of the U-FLi student community at Brown.

The center coordinates a few major programs that include the Kessler Scholars Program, the U-FLi Peer Counselor Program, the Undocumented Student Program, and the Breathing Power Speaker Series.

The Kessler Scholars Program (KSP) at Brown University, formerly the FLi Scholars Program (FLiSP), is a four-year cohort-based student success and community building program for undergraduates who identify with the following populations served by the U-FLi Center: undocumented, first-generation-college, and/or low-income (U-FLi).
The Undocumented, First-Generation College, and Low-Income (U-FLi) Peer Counselors foster the holistic success of all undergraduate U-FLi students through peer advising and the coordination of ongoing community building and identity development activities.
The series cultivates intellectual spaces for critical engagement and collective action focused on economic justice, immigrant justice, and educational freedom at, and beyond, Brown University.
The Undocumented Student Program (USP) of the U-FLi Center provides holistic advising and leadership development support for undocumented students at Brown University. Additionally, the program provides learning opportunities for the campus community to elevate their knowledge on issues of migration and ways students are impacted my federal immigration policy.
The Graduate Student Initiative (GSI) of the Undocumented, First Generation College, and Low-Income Student (U-FLi) Center fosters a sense of community among graduate, medical, and professional students at Brown University.
